Prompts and Promos

This is an optional, casual place to share and read thoughts/ideas about zero-fic ships. The basic premise is that it's like a chatty prompt-meme. Importantly, each fandom (no matter how big or small) has its own top-level comment. Prompts and promos are posted in reply to them. Read the section "How does the prompts and promos post work?" in the FAQs for more information.

This post will remain open for future rounds until noted otherwise.

For any idea that doesn't fall into a single fandom, such as if you want to talk about tropes and dynamics, rather than a specific fandom or characters. Crossover ships can also go here but are not required to.

So, out of curiosity, I tried to find a Star Wars characters/ship generator and there was surprisingly nothing quite like I'd hoped. Still, they're fun to play around with.

There's this generator, with 233 characters: https://www.generatormix.com/random-star-war-characters
But it only has characters from the movies.

There's this generator, with 1015 characters: https://www.bestrandoms.com/get-random-star-wars-characters
But you can only generate them within groups ("batches") of 50. I suppose you could generate 1 character from a random batch and then different ones from other random batches. Hm.

On the subject of Jyn/Paige: I don't know who nominated it for SW Rare Pairs a couple years ago, but it intrigued me then. In thinking about it some more, they both seem like tough-nosed pragmatists, and they both have symbolic necklaces!

As far as how to make a timeskip work, this article intrigued me. (Uh, potential spoilers for this fic if I actually write it, haha.)

So one ship think would be interesting is Asajj Ventress/Komari Vosa. They have a lot in common: they're both prequels-era Darksider ladies who used to be apprenticed to Dooku and were ultimately betrayed by him. Maybe an AU where Komari survives to the Clone Wars and Asajj goes to her for help with her revenge after Dooku tries to kill her?

I love the original trilogy.

There is some fic. But I really want to see Sarah Harding/Ellie Sattler. Preferably geeking out over dinosaurs, or in a survival situation involving dinosaurs.

Luv/Joshi: their one interaction in canon is the scene that starts at 1:40 of this clip and goes to about 4:33. In less than three minutes we have this grudging respect between murderous enemies. Hot.

Anyway, I'm working on a 5+1 things of different ways they could have met. I'm worried that it's not as shippy as hoped for in a / fic, it's mostly Joshi's complicated (and possibly one-sided) feelings? But considering where they are in canon, maybe just "enemies to...?enemies??" is enough.

This seems to be a good place to ask if anyone wants to chat about good ideas for relationships featuring two or more characters who are 50 years old or more. I'd love to see more of those represented in fandom in general.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Linking it because I thought people might find it interesting but last month I made this for a femslash themed Yu-Gi-Oh! event I hosted and have now marked zero fic ships in blue, may have to double check as these are just my estimates. Also, ships which have red next to them indicate they meet the general rule of thumb in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom uses to estimate popularity used for rare pair themed events so they have 30 or more fics. Ironically though, the one Yu-Gi-Oh! ship that I listed down in sign ups is a slash pairing but the fic I've written is femslash for a different fandom. Though I have my fingers crossed to launch more than one ship for this event since I really like its premise.

Bernard/Miss Bianca from the Resucers. Miss Bianca is elegant and makes Bernard feel brave. She is very flirty, they must have spent a lot of time between their first mission and their engagement in the movie. How did they get their relationship started officially?
